About Me

I graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2013 and my MBChB degree was awarded with First Class Honours. I am dedicated to family health care and find the continuity of working with a family over time very rewarding. At UCT I received undergraduate awards in the fields of Orthopaedics, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology and Anatomy.

I also graduated as a Physiotherapist and practiced full time for a year and part time during my medical training.

I completed my Medical Internship at Victoria Hospital and my Community Service at Mowbray Maternity Hospital.

I joined Kendalwood Surgery as a partner in 2018 and after 7 years of dedicated practice I opened Dr Brian Behrens GP Rooms in 2024.

Minor surgical procedures: done under local anesthetic
- Unwanted skin lesions: excision and closure
  Skin wart removal: debridement and liquid nitrogen application
  Abscess: incision and drainage
  Ingrown toenail: partial excision of the nail
  Other nail disorders: total nail excision available
  Skin tag: removal through excision
  Nose bleeds: cautery
Weight loss: medical treatment to assist weight loss

I graduated from Wits University in 2019 with an MBChB degree, and completed my internship at both Chris Hani Baragwanath and Tygerberg Hospitals. My community service year was completed at Swartland Hospital servicing Malmesbury and surrounds. Prior to the completion of my medical degree, I obtained an honours degree in Nursing from UWC.

My years of exposure in the medical field have helped shape a holistic approach that integrates clinical expertise with a compassionate understanding of individual needs.

As a dedicated General Medical Practitioner, I am committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care that prioritises the health and well-being of my patients.

By actively listening to patients and involving them in their care plans, I strive to empower them to take charge of their health.

I am continuously expanding my knowledge and skills through ongoing education and collaboration with colleagues to stay at the forefront of medical advancements.
